Monthly Update

6 months gone and only 5 months to go. It's hard to believe that I have finished half of my year already. I feel so settled in work right now it's great. Mr. Bob came to visit me this month and it was good to see a familiar face from the emerald isle. I also turned 20 this month, and so I am no longer a teenager which is a scary thought.

Work is going really well as usual. We ran the Thorncross prison service last Sunday and three lads became Christians and many of them said they met with God and really enjoyed s being in. In Hindley prison our discipleship group is going really well, and God is really developing the lads we are working with. A few of them are on the verge of getting on and we are currently finding churches for them and helping them get set up for life on the outside. So keep praying for all the lads I work with.

My youth work course is going well and I am really enjoying it, it is so beneficial and I really hope that God will use it to develop me for future work. I'm also starting to think about what next year might hold for me, so I would ask that you would pray for God's real direction in my life for next year as I start to consider where to go from here.

Bible bit

Jeremiah 5: 28-29

“They are fat and sleek, and there is no limit to their wicked deeds. They refuse to provide justice to orphans and deny the rights of the poor. Should I not punish them for this?” says the Lord.“Should I not avenge myself against such a nation?”

This month I've been looking at the book of Jeremiah and how God challenged Israel through this man. Here in this passage we see Jeremiah speaking on behalf of the Lord and saying “Should I not punish them for this?” But God in his mercy lets them off very easy, and at one point says that he will not punish them at all if He can find just one person who is not evil.

We have a God who wants to bless us so much, yet so often we do evil in his sight and still expect him to bless us. God is slow to anger and his favour does last a life time, but sometimes God will take our blessings from us. If we choose to live in sin even after God has warned us, then who are we to speak out against God if he takes our blessings from us. Yet most of the time God doesn't, and even when he does more often than not we get them back. What an amazing and yet challenging God we have.

Prayer requests

 - I had an asthma attack the other day and it was pretty serious so pray that my health wouldn't deteriorate, and that God would restore my lungs.

- My work has expanded this month and I now work in three prisons all across Manchester. So as my work develops more and more pray that God would make me able to the task

- 3 lads became Christians in Thorncross prison last Sunday, so pray for thanks, and pray that they would have continued support.

- Thanks for how God has blessed me, but even more prayer that in this last term I would raise my last £1000

Financially

Thank you again for blessing me with your financial support. You all have been so amazing. I now have a few people who sponsor me monthly but I really could do with some more. I need to raise about £500 pounds more for my YFC support and then enough to keep me going personally, so if you would like to donate any money either contact me on my phone number or email me at starfoxspart@hotmail.com and I will send you a form.

Thanks for all your continued prayer and support
